10 day juice cleanse: day 3!

todays recipe:

1 handful spring mix greens

2 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries

1 banana

1 apple

Not having anything in my stomach but juice is starting to feel like the new norm. Occasionally I still catch myself thinking about how I want to have something other than juice all day, but I haven’t really craved anything today. Woke up this morning with no headache so I feel that my body has adjusted to this new routine! I feel energized ( & I didn’t have coffee since Sunday). I was able to get a good work out in, half hour interval cardio on elliptical followed by half hour lifting! after the gym I was HUNGRY so I made a green juice and was good to go!  I drink water in between to keep myself feeling full through out the day. ( yes you will be peeing every 15 minutes). As far as today’s recipe goes, I’m not a big fan! The chunkiness you get from blueberries, I think was a turn off for me but taste wise it was alright.

10 day juice cleanse : day 2!

As day two of the juice cleanse is coming to an end, I want to share with you guys how today went! But first we will start with the recipe ( today’s recipe is DELICIOUS)

today’s recipe :

3 handfuls spring green mix

2 cups water

1 banana

2 apples

1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries

I believe I forgot to mention yesterday that this recipe is for a standard size blender if you are using a tiny personal blender or any other blender you will have to divide the portions.

Today has been so much better than yesterday, as far as cravings go! I felt hungry at times and thought to myself I wish I could have food but there wasn’t a specific craving. Also I didn’t really feel that hungry today except after working out and even then had my green juice when I got home and now I’m not hungry! I had a lot of energy at the gym and owned my cardio work out! This morning I woke up with a bit of a headache but had water and the headache went away. so far so good, going strong!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: NYC edition

My Christmas present from one of my friend’s this year was to go to NYC. Neither of us have been to NYC during the holiday time, and let me tell you the city is such a magical place during the holidays! There’s so many things to see and do! Stay tuned to see what we got into this past weekend!

When in the city , would your trip be truly complete if you avoided the crowds of times square? We tried not to spend too much time in times square, but it’s always nice to take a stroll through here and do some sight seeing, especially at night!

Also would your NYC trip be complete if you didn’t take a stroll through 5th AVE and other random streets. It’s so much fun strolling the streets of NYC! Everything is all decked out for Christmas and you just get into the holiday spirit! We didn’t do any shopping other than stopping in to souvenir shops because neither of us had shopping in mind when we came to the city.  However it was nice to see the beautiful window displays as we were walking by different stores! We did however stop in at Macys and it was so packed but we walked around a bit any how to check out their Christmas decorations!

New York’s most exciting hotel experience!

How cute is this church?

We also stopped by Radio City! it was all decked out for Christmas and looked pretty! As we kept exploring we came upon the grand central terminal.

After exploring for a bit, we stopped in at central park! Central park is so pretty every season of the year no matter when you stop by. It’s also a very nice change of scenery after spending the day in the hectic city! Perfect for taking a little stroll and unwinding, while at the same time taking in a gorgeous scenic view.

Rockefeller Center is also a must visit place! The Christmas tree was not lit yet, none the less it still looked pretty!

And while in the city, you just must pay a visit to the international icon of the New York skyline, the empire state building!!

When in NY and passing by the trump tower, you must stop and visit the new president am I right?

We also checked out the public library, it had beautiful Christmas decorations up and it was perfect for warming up a bit! The architecture of this building is so unique and pretty too inside and out! so cool to just walk through the library and sight see. Not to mention the library is probably the only place in the city where you don’t have to wait 40 minutes to use the bathroom! not even joking here!

Bryant park also had the holiday vibe going! Unique shops were open, people were doing some Christmas shopping, the Christmas tree was decorated, the lights were on. Definitely puts you in the holiday spirit!

We had a wonderful time in the city this weekend! It was so much fun. Hope you guys enjoyed reading about our experience and hopefully you got some inspiration of things to do or see when you happen to visit NYC! If you visited NYC before, what are some of your favorite places to stop by?

10 day juicing cleanse

Are you looking to get a jump start to a healthier lifestyle? or maybe lose the extra pounds you put on from delicious thanksgiving food? then juicing just might be what you are looking for!

For months I have told myself that I’m going to start making healthier food choices and get more fit and it has yet to happen so I decided to give the 10 day green smoothie cleanse a try again. ( did it before once made it to day 3 & stopped) but this time around I’m documenting my journey on here to keep myself accountable and making sure I make it to the end this time! Also this time around I found a new juice maker when I was black Friday shopping so I was excited to test it out. Hey whatever it takes to get motivated guys! I’ll be sharing recipes, how I felt that day, and some other tip and tricks to get through these 10 days! Today is the start of juicing, day one is almost complete! only 9 more to go!

first and foremost here’s today recipe:

3 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

1 apple cored

1 cup frozen mangos

1 cup frozen strawberries

1 handful grapes

always place leafy greens and water into blender first and blend until mixture is a green juice- like consistency. then add the rest of the remaining ingredients in.

As day one is coming to an end, I would say today wasn’t half as bad as I imagined it to be. I think it also helps that I was busy through out the day. For the most part I think it’s all how you mentally approach things, because last time I tried to do juicing for 10 days I told myself how it’s an impossible task and I gave up day 3, this time around I’m coming in with an attitude that this will be so healthy for the body and is totally doable. I’m also discovering that it’s human nature to eat out of boredom and people turn to food when they aren’t even hungry. Like when I’m super busy I even forget that I didn’t eat but as soon as I have a bit of free time all I can think of is how I’m so hungry. Today the cravings have been real, I’m craving all the unhealthy foods my brain can possibly think of. I’m totally having withdrawals from coffee real bad. I convinced myself that I can’t even function with out coffee( although that’s probably a very true statement). None the less, for the majority of the day I had a steady energy flow. Later on through out the day started feeling low on energy and started getting a headache. Which is very normal for the first 4 days as your body is adjusting to healthy foods being introduced and having withdrawals from all the unhealthy foods. So I drank a bottle of water and the headache went away, energy levels aren’t too shabby. I was able to get a good work out in also! I figured out if you keep drinking a lot of water through out the day you feel full and it tricks your mind into believing that you aren’t hungry!  I also love chamomile tea with no sugar or anything added to it! I’m very excited to get a jump start into a healthier life style and seeing how this cleanse changes my body! stay tuned I will be doing daily updates to tell you guys about how everything’s going and will be sharing new smoothie recipes every day! oh and did I forget to mention? the smoothie recipes are delicious!

Also here are my thoughts on the toastmaster personal blender:

Today was my first day using it, and so far I am very satisfied with it! I love that it’s the perfect size and that you can bring it along to work with you or even perfect for travel. I use it even at home because I love having fresh made smoothies. I hate how when you store smoothies in the fridge for awhile they get the thick consistency. Also I love how it grinds frozen fruit right up like it’s nothing. It has awesome blending capacity and perfect blades. It’s perfect for smoothies, protein shakes, or even frozen coffee. Definitely will get a lot of use out of this blender for sure.

did you guys ever do a juicing diet/ cleanse? if so share your thoughts/ outcomes down below!

Christmas gift guide for pets

With Christmas around the corner in a few short weeks, I’m sure that people started putting together their Christmas shopping list for what they want to get others for Christmas. If you have pets or want to get some one’s pet a Christmas present I have a wonderful idea, stay tuned!

for the pups:

The bark box- It’s a monthly subscription to get dog goodies delivered monthly to your door. You can cancel the subscription anytime you wish. You choose the size of your dog, next they have you choose what type of subscription you want. There’s an option for $20 per bark box per month for 12 months, $24 per bark box per month for 6 months, and $29 per bark box for a month. Every box contains 4-6  toys and healthy treats. You get different toys and treats each month! What pups wouldn’t appreciate one of these in their life?

you can order yours on: https://barkbox.com

for the feline in your life:

(Yes that’s a picture of my sweet rascal)

Same concept as the bark box for the pups, they have a meow box for the cat in your life. They have a monthly and every other month option for cats.

you can order yours at: https://meowbox.com

Also this time of year as the weather gets colder there will be much more homeless pets. Animal shelters are always looking for help, whether its help through volunteering or through donations of pet food, supplies, or money everything is appreciated. Every animal deserves to be loved and have a forever home! no animal should be left outside to freeze. If you’re looking for a pet to bring home this holiday season, pay a visit to your local animal shelter and give these animals a second chance to a better life. Let’s make a difference in an animal’s life this holiday season!

Christmas gift guide for her:2016 edition

Do you maybe have a female in your life who you just don’t have an idea of what to get for Christmas? No worries, I put together a list of items that are versatile for any female in your life whether it be your mom, grandma, sister, friend, or girlfriend! stay tuned to see what I came up with, and maybe you will find inspiration.

for those who love to be cozy: well who doesn’t? especially with the cold months approaching upon us.

a robe, fuzzy socks, new throw blanket, heated blanket, Uggs, or new set of pajamas make the  perfect gift. This is one of those gifts that will always be appreciated and used over and over again. My one friend got me a robe several years ago I still use it to this day. Last Christmas my other friend got me a robe and seriously the best gift one could get, you can’t ever have too many robes. My brother got me Uggs one year, and I seriously got so much use out of them already and they still are looking brand new. Pricey, but the quality is amazing. They are a match maker in heaven for our New York winters, and I love them a lot. So if winters are brutal in the state where you live, Uggs is a phenomenal investment.

for the fashionista in your life:

Clothes shopping  for some one else is usually not a good idea, but if you know this person I feel like they wouldn’t complain if you got them a nice new sweater or a new cardigan. Big thick chunky sweaters/cardigans are so in for the season, plus you can’t ever go wrong with buying one of these, most all females fall/winter wardrobes consist of this staple piece and they’d never say no to a new addition.

scarves- especially blanket scarves! so comfy & so stylish!

for the beauty gurus in your life:

IT brushes- These brushes are perfection! Perfect for applying powder foundation and achieving that flawless complexion! It comes with 5 different brushes. Effortless beauty has never felt so indulgent that’s for sure!

Michael Kors perfume- my friend got me glam Jasmine & let me tell you, I think this is my new favorite scent! I got my mom several of Michael Kors perfume sets, and she loves each and every one.

Versace bright crystal perfume- another amazing scent that I just keep repurchasing over and over again! This enchanting fragrance features high notes of yuzu and pomegranate layered over a base of musky Mahogany and amber, with a kick of  distinctly feminine peony, Lotus, and magnolia. So feminine and florally!

Conair infiniti curling iron-  I have been using this curling iron for as long as I can remember, and I absolutely love it! 1/2 in to 1 in curling iron. It’s the perfect curling iron to get those tight curls. It reduces frizz, and creates soft, silky, curls. absolute perfection!

a cheaper alternative to Conair infiniti is the Remington wand, I got it in “wide” to achieve that loose bouncy curls look. I  just recently bought it, but so far I have been impressed with this product.

chi chi hair straightner-  These are perfect for traveling. they come in so many different cute colors! Leaves your hair pin straight and looking silky smooth! great investment for that lady friend in your life that loves straightening her hair.

dry bar hair dryer- the perfect hair dryer for traveling! it folds up and weighs 1 POUND! say what? It dries hair much faster than other hair dryers and controls the frizz.

I can go on with beauty products forever and the list is never ending but let’s move on.

for the fitness junkie in your life-

fitbit- my friend got me one & lets just say I don’t remember a day I haven’t had it on! (unless it’s charging) They have these in so many different styles and all kinds of fun colors. You can track your exercise , steps, what you have eaten for the day, your sleep cycle. There’s an option to compete with your friends on different challenges. let’s talk about great motivation to get your butt moving!

north face fleece/ jackets- my absolute favorite! Whether it’s for running errands, hiking, shopping trip, or going to the gym my north face is coming along!

under armour hoodies-  They are water resistant the cold gear fabric traps heat and wicks sweat to keep you warm, dry, and light. perfect for bringing along with you to the gym or when you go on chilly morning or afternoon runs.

lululemon/ Victoria secret leggings- these are a staple piece in every fitness junkie’s wardrobe!

lets be honest, now what girl doesn’t love accessories? I now this is my weakness, can’t ever have enough accessories!!

wristlets- these are perfect for when you don’t want to haul your bag around! throw in your phone, cards, money, attach your keys to the wristlet and you’re ready to roll! My favorite wristlets I have been loving is this gold  MK wristlet my friend got me for my birthday, and my mom got me the same style one year for Christmas in silver, I have been using these every season! they are perfect!

cross body bags are so in for this season- They are perfect for when you want to be hands free as you’re running errands or for that quick coffee run. My mom got me a black mini cross body bag for  Christmas this year ( yes she gave it to me early because she said she couldn’t wait until Christmas) and I have been bringing it with me every where I go! It’s the perfect size and fits all my essentials.

big watches are so in style- the styles out there are endless and you just can’t go wrong with what ever style you choose!

jewelry- diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all, am I right? you can’t go wrong with getting jewelry! I mean what girl would complain about getting that blue box from tiffany&co? Pandora continues being a big hit through out all these years, can’t go wrong with Alex& Ani, and the list goes on.

for the cooker/baker in your life:

crockpot- less hassle and less mess to clean when prepping meals!  There are so many meals you can prep with the crock pot the choices are endless! perfect for the busy bees.

kitchen aid mixer- baking has never been better!

candles- I doubt that there’s one female that doesn’t like candles!

seat warmers- my friend got me these for Christmas this year(also couldn’t wait until Christmas to give these to me) and I can’t ever imagine my life with out these! They make New York winters much more bearable! ( I never want to get out of my car these days) so cozy & warm! the best gift ever!

stocking stuffers:

bath and body works hand sanitizer- one just can’t have enough of these especially through out these next few months when flu season will be upon us.

gift cards- whether it’s to her favorite store, a spa/ massage gift card….

lush bath bombs- no better way to relax at the end of a long day than with a lush bath bomb bath.

hope you guys found some inspiration from this blog of things I have been loving!

stay tuned for a gift guide for him/ for pets!

happy holidays folks & happy shopping!

too faced make up products I have been loving

I’m one of those girls that is  always willing to try a new beauty product to see if it will work for me. However when I tried too faced products, I fell in love and have been using their products for years now. Not only is the packaging super cute on all their products and everything smells like chocolate, their products work wonders on my skin.

too faced queen sized mascara- I don’t remember last time I used any other mascara than this one!! In just one coat, you get lashes that are ultra-long, thick, defined and curled and best part it lasts all day. The mascara brush has long and short bristles, which gives your lashes that layered look. What is there not to love?

too faced eye primer-  For one, I love that this eye prime is ultra- light formula!
It glides effortlessly onto lids to create a smooth, even, seamless shadow application and a stay-put look every time. It locks down eye shadows and intensifies color to ensure crease-proof, fade-proof, water-proof wear. In fact even my intense work outs at the gym don’t stand a chance to this primer! After an hour of intense cardio my eye make up remains on point! now that’s a win.

too faced cocoa powder foundation- for one it smells like pure chocolate!!! yum?? I use it over my liquid foundation and I absolutely love this product! It has an amazing coverage and I love how it glides on seamlessly, blending into skin for a matte finish.

too faced cocoa contour- probably my favorite contouring and highlighting kit I ever laid my hands on. The pigmentation is perfect, it’s basically a universal kit for all skin tones. I absolutely love that all the tones are very neutral. It applies so easily and blends beautifully. Whether you are going for the instant cheek bones, skinny sculpt, celebrity contour, or just a basic every day contour, you need this kit in your life!

Rhonda Allison skin care reviews

img_5731If you’re OCD about your skin care routine like I am, you probably tried all kinds of skincare products through out the years. There were skin care products I loved, was neutral about, and then there were those not worth writing home about! However, when I went in for a facial and was introduced to Rhonda Allison line of skin care products it was life changing! Always looking to nature for inspiration, Rhonda blends the best of active ingredients with highly beneficial, scientifically developed compounds to create a synergy of superior professional treatments and customized home care products that will transform the condition of your skin. The Rhonda Allison company and its affiliates are environmentally aware of the planet and endeavor to go green when ever possible and they don’t do animal testing. A huge plus in my books, if one should ask me. I tried several products from this skin care line, stay tuned to see what I have been loving.

My number one product that I keep repurchasing is their facial cleansers. They have these in basically every scent you can imagine. My favorite one has been the pumpkin cleanser! This cleanser leaves your skin hydrated and refreshingly clean with the benefits of lactic acid, their signature pumpkin cleanser also uses natural pumpkin extracts to support brighter, glowing skin.  That is sure does, the glow is real!

fruit acid botanical- my skin tends to be on the oily side so I use this wonderful product to keep that oily skin at bay! It regenerates the skin and helps to control excessive oil production. It quickly absorbs into the skin and it’ll have your skin feeling smooth like never before.

derma peel- a gel-based enzyme that has a unique ability to liquefy and then bond together to form a natural granular exfoliation that leaves skin feeling polished, soft, and refreshed. Derma peel provides a safe gentle surface exfoliation for any one needing to remove surface build -up. This product is used weekly so one container of this product goes a long way!

With every product I tried from the Rhonda Allison line, I can attest to the fact that no other skin care products on the market compare.

Rhonda Allison clinical enterprises is a professional skin care company that sells only to professional facilities and not directly to the consumer so you can’t order off their website. However, I would check your local spas because many spas carry Rhonda Allison products. Or there’s always that option of ordering off E bay!

facial cleanser- large bottle- $30

small bottle- $12 (this bottle is the travel size)

fruit acid botanical-  large bottle-$32

small bottle- $14

derma peel- $15

fall accessory trend

accessories-for-fall-800x10001. mini bags–  one of the most fashionable handbag styles this fall. They are the perfect bag for your errand days to coffee runs. not only are they very fashionable, it’s nice to be hands free when you’re out and about.

2. scarves-Don’t get me started on this scarves obsession! But seriously, they are the perfect layering piece. They’ll spice up any outfit  and if you live in a state that temperatures drop in the negatives, scarves become as functional as they are fashionable.

3.animal accents-because leopard is the new neutral.

4.boots-no outfit is complete with out boots. whether its riding boots or booties, you must have them in your closet this fall. Perfectly paired with those skinny jeans or leggings; add a knit sweater or even a cardigan on top, and you’re ready to conquer the day.

5.tuxedo jackets-perfect for dressing up or for going for that casual laid back style.

6.statement necklaces-perfect for spicing up any outfit!

7.vests-The vest has been a staple piece in our closets for years now, but even more so in 2016 as its making it’s reappearance in every texture, print, and color imaginable.  Perfect layering option to spice up your favorite outfit!

what’s your favorite fall accessory?
