apartment essentials

Couple days ago I signed my lease for my first apartment! One thing I’m very excited for is move in day. In the mean time I did a mini apartment haul of some essentials every one must have in their apartment, and I’m excited to share these things with you guys.

Number one being a coffee maker of course! I can’t live with out my coffee. I actually found some cute coffee bar ideas on pinterest, that I just might use for my kitchen. Not only will it be a cute décor, it’ll be convenient to have coffee essentials out on display and all organized for those busy work mornings.

crockpot is also an essential! it will be so convenient for those long days of work, get everything in the crockpot in the morning, come home from work to a nice warm dinner waiting for you! There’s so many crock pot recipes out there on pinterest that I can definitely survive on crockpot meals!

I also love my dinner ware set! It’s absolutely perfect. plain white and elegant.

forks/knives/ spoons are Oneida and a set my mom bought a while back that she never used so she gave them to me.

my drinking glasses are crystal glass, very fancy, and have this floral design. I wanted to get something more fancy for when I have people over. I don’t think I’ll be using these on the daily.

I found the most perfect café set at raymour and flanigan! I can’t wait to host brunch at my place and put these to use. How adorable is this set?

This crystal bowl I think I’ll use as decoration piece on the dining room table or coffee table. Perfect for filling with candy, or for every season you can fill it with seasonal décor. I’ll definitely get use out of it.

I’ll probably do an apartment décor blog, apartment furniture haul, and possibly apartment tour once I’m moved in. Stay tuned for some exciting blogs coming in the near future. Let me know what kind of blogs you want to see on here!

life update/greek peak adventures

Hey guys! sorry I have been MIA these past couple of weeks! I had a 360 life change, right before the holidays! I got a new job in a completely new state, had to do a site visit at my new job and had to find a new apartment! seriously all this was done in ONE week, right before Christmas! I hope every one had a great Christmas and made many memories with their loved ones this holiday season! My brother was home for the holidays so we had a lot of family bonding time before we all go our separate ways, with every one living in different states about 9 hours apart, I don’t think we will have much more of these opportunities where we can all spend a couple days together. Today my brother and I decided to get out in the snow and have some adventures before I move to North Carolina! We decided to go to greek peak mountain resort, stay tuned to see what we got into!

This morning’s wake up call consisted of my brother calling me from downstairs to see if I was up and getting ready for our greek peak adventures! I quickly jumped out of bed and got ready. We stopped at Dennys for breakfast before heading out to greek peak! We had a nice breakfast and were on our way to greek peak. In the car as we are driving, we are deciding if we want to go skiing. Neither of us ever skied before, so I youtube skiing for beginners and watch a video, I reassure my brother that skiing is not hard at all. He’s a dare devil and an adventurous soul like I am, so he doesn’t even question if it’s fitting for us or not. As we get closer to our destination, I tell my brother I feel a bit nervous about this entire skiing idea.( I heard some horrible stories of skiing gone wrong) And as we get to the hill I’m definitely questioning if this is a good idea. The hill was STEEP ( well for some one who hasn’t skied before). We go inside to rent out skis the lady asks us if we have skied before, we tell her we haven’t, she told us we would have to get a quick lesson before we go on the slopes. It was noon when we got there the next lesson started at 2. No way were we going to waste two hours doing absolutely nothing but waiting. So that solved our skiing shenanigans… NOT HAPPENING! Well that was easy. None the less we got into other awesome adventures! After messing around with snow boards we got into tubing! Tubing was so much fun! My brother and I had a blast!!!!

After tubing for a couple hours, we were whipped! Tubing is some serious business and tires you out!!( or like my brother mentioned earlier, we just might be old farts) So my brother and I decided it was time to head inside for some lunch! We had lunch at trax pub& grill & their food was delicious! We went outside on the patio, to enjoy our lunch near the fire with a nice view!

After lunch, we went to starbucks, got a warm latte and headed home! We had a great day and definitely glad we had the opportunity to head out there today and spend some time together before he heads back on the road tomorrow. (he’s a truck driver). Like always, I don’t want him to go yet, but glad we had a great time together for the past couple of days he was home.

Christmas gift guide for men

If you are sitting there wondering what to get the man in your life for Christmas, and are having a hard time coming up with ideas, you aren’t the only one! Men can be hard to shop for, but don’t worry I put together a list of the typical gifts every man would love to receive.

  1. wallet- seriously this is one of those items that every man can use in his life. I don’t know why but men never buy themselves new wallets, seriously not until their old wallet has fallen apart into shreds! Ladies don’t allow your man to carry a wallet that looks like its from the ’30s era! Hook him up with a trendy wallet this holiday season! He will thank you for it later!
  2. cologne- What man doesn’t want to smell good? Another one of those items that they might not want to buy for themselves but will appreciate. One can’t ever have enough fragrances! Am I right?
  3. watch- yes, men love their accessories also! a watch will spice up any outfit and will make your man more classy!
  4. hats- from fitted hats to warmer winter hats these will never go out of style and guys have an obsession with these!
  5. shaving kit/skin care kit- lets be honest most guys don’t have a skin care routine! hook him up with a skin care kit this holiday season and teach him to take care of his skin! pimples and pores are just not flattering! As far as shaving kit goes, get him a luxurious shaving kit he wouldn’t buy for himself.
  6. sneakers- most guys have an obsession with sneakers! Even if they don’t ,who wouldn’t appreciate a new pair of sneakers?
  7. fitbit- I mentioned these in my gift guide for her, but seriously I feel that every one should have one of these in their life! plus they are so versatile that you can just buy a black one and it will be perfect for the man in your life.
  8. gaming- men will always be a kid at heart, and I feel that they will never grow out of videogames!
  9. headphones- whether they love to work out and can use these at the gym, or it’s for your sake so you don’t have to deal with noise in the house from their music or videogames, these will make the perfect gift! win- win situation here folks!
  10. phone battery case- These will make any one’s life easier!
  11. slippers/pj. set- who wouldn’t want to get a cozy gift? plus guys will never buy themselves a new pj set. They’ll have the same one for years!
  12. under armour/ north face hoodie/jackets- these make the perfect gift! I don’t know who in their right mind would say they have enough of these in their life! Perfect for the one who loves to work out, go on adventures, or just for lounging in the house!
  13. car care kit- these will always be put to use!
  14. tickets to a sporting event- guys love sports! You can’t go wrong with treating the guy in your life with one of these!
  15. gift card- gift cards are perfect! who would complain about getting money? Get them a gift card to their favorite restaurant or store and you can never go wrong with one of these. This is a perfect option for those who are just way too difficult to shop for! it’ll save you time and a headache!

hope you guys have found some ideas, and if you have any other ideas I have missed feel free to share them with me! happy shopping!
