time to get back in shape! It’s been probably 2 months since I stepped foot into a gym and now that I have an apartment that has a fitness center on site there’s no more excuses for not squeezing these work outs in. still experimenting with how I’m going to break my work outs up, yesterday was arm day, today gluets and tomorrow legs. Every day I incorporate an hour high intensity cardio session whether it be elliptical or treadmill. trying to get into food prepping also, yesterday’s was a success. Fun fitness blogs coming soon!

gluet work out:

30 lunges

20 single leg deadlifts

20 squats

30 donkey kicks

15 gluet bridges

repeat 3 times and feel that bum burn!

10 day juice cleanse: day 10!

today’s recipe:

2 handfuls spring mix greens

2 cups water

1 1/2 cups frozen peaches

2 handfuls pineapple chunks

Well I made it to day 10 and I feel fantastic guys! Clear skin, lots of energy, and lost 10 pounds in the process! I’m motivated to work out harder and keep going on this health and fitness journey! I no longer feel tired all the time it’s fabulous! I very much enjoy my glowing skin, looks like I just had a facial done! If you’re thinking about doing a juice cleanse, I’d say totally go for it, it’s so worth it!

10 day juice cleanse: day 8!

today’s recipe:

2 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

1 apple cored

1 banana

1 1/2 cups blueberries

If you are sick of seeing update blogs on juice cleanse on the daily, bear with me, only 2 more days left! I’m at that point in juicing where I stopped to think about what I’ll actually be eating once the juice cleanse is over. It’s so easy to throw everything into the juicer and so convenient not having to think about what to make for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Not looking forward to having to actually cook again! everything is still smooth sailing! Energy is sky rocket high, I’m loving it! I jumped on the scale when I was done working out and I lost 9 pounds! I know most of it is water weight and I’ll gain most of it back once I start eating regular food again, but to me it doesn’t matter because my entire intention was to get a reboot so I can feel healthy again, and that I do! Being fit and healthy is not a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle change! you want to see results and feel good, you got to put in the work and it’s worth any “sacrifice”.

10 day juice cleanse: day 7!

today’s recipe:

2 handfuls spinach

1 banana

1 1/2 cups pineapple chunks

1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks

1 cup frozen mixed berries

Basically the same update as yesterday. feeling phenomenal! Also I keep staring at my face and love the glow and clear skin I got from this juice cleanse! Energy levels are amazing! I don’t remember last time I had this kind of energy!! I’m at the point where having juice twice a day fills me up. Today I cheated a little, there were pistachios out on the counter and I had some, and to make matters worse not because I was hungry but out of boredom.  I also didn’t go to the gym, but I got quite a work out from shopping with my mom, then I went for a walk around the neighborhood when I got home. Perfect for getting your exercise in and checking out every one’s Christmas decorations! double win!

10 day juice cleanse: day 6

today’s recipe:

2 cups spinach

1 cup pineapple chunks

2 bananas

2 cups frozen peaches

No, I didn’t give up on my juice cleanse, I was just too busy this weekend and haven’t had the chance to work on blogs. I’m a day behind on blogs but yesterday(day 6) of my juice cleanse it was easy cruising! At this point absolutely all cravings are gone, energy levels are sky rocket, skin is looking amazing, and the juices fill you up. This recipe is also absolutely delicious and so tropical! Something about bananas in recipes makes every green juice that much better! I woke up with lots of energy, made green juice, and headed to the gym, got an hour of  intense interval cardio session in and felt amazing all day! I feel that the first 5 days drag and calls for a long week, but once you get past day 5 it’s easy cruising from there and the days fly by fast!

10 day juice cleanse: day 5!

today’s recipe:

3 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

1 cup frozen peaches

1 handful grapes

1 1/2 cups blueberries

Today’s recipe is not too shabby! half way there guys and let me tell you I had thoughts of just calling it quits today! they say day 3 or 4 is the hardest but for me today was! Yesterday there was lack of energy at times but nothing major today I woke up lightheaded and no energy through out the day. I drank a cup of tea with a little bit of honey and the lightheadedness went away and got a little bit of energy. At this point no matter what juice recipe I try it doesn’t sound all to appealing. I lost 5 pounds as of yesterday but I’m not concerned about losing weight I just want to reboot my system and try to eat healthier after the cleanse to feel better so I don’t feel sluggish and lack energy! Today my work out consisted of cleaning the house , didn’t go to the gym! Other than that no other updates to report. We shall see what tomorrow brings!

10 day juice cleanse: day 4!

today’s recipe:

2 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

2 apples cored

1 1/2 cups frozen peaches

1 1/2 cups frozen mixed berries

Not a fan of todays recipe! it makes a world of difference when you have a delicious juice for the day. Today seemed harder than all the other days because energy was lacking and I was much hungrier than all the other days. I was also starting to feel over juicing all together but I know it’s great for your body and so I didn’t give in! They also say day 3-4 is the hardest and day 5 you get a huge burst of energy so definitely looking forward to having my energy back! got a half hour of interval cardio on the elliptical in. Not too shabby! Also update on the juice maker I was obsessing about on Monday, it broke on me today! Don’t waste money on one, back to the Hamilton we go!

10 day juice cleanse: day 3!

todays recipe:

1 handful spring mix greens

2 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries

1 banana

Not having anything in my stomach but juice is starting to feel like the new norm. Occasionally I still catch myself thinking about how I want to have something other than juice all day, but I haven’t really craved anything today. Woke up this morning with no headache so I feel that my body has adjusted to this new routine! I feel energized ( & I didn’t have coffee since Sunday). I was able to get a good work out in, half hour interval cardio on elliptical followed by half hour lifting! after the gym I was HUNGRY so I made a green juice and was good to go!  I drink water in between to keep myself feeling full through out the day. ( yes you will be peeing every 15 minutes). As far as today’s recipe goes, I’m not a big fan! The chunkiness you get from blueberries, I think was a turn off for me but taste wise it was alright.

10 day juice cleanse : day 2!

As day two of the juice cleanse is coming to an end, I want to share with you guys how today went! But first we will start with the recipe ( today’s recipe is DELICIOUS)


today’s recipe :

3 handfuls spring green mix

2 cups water

1 banana

2 apples

1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries

I believe I forgot to mention yesterday that this recipe is for a standard size blender if you are using a tiny personal blender or any other blender you will have to divide the portions.

Today has been so much better than yesterday, as far as cravings go! I felt hungry at times and thought to myself I wish I could have food but there wasn’t a specific craving. Also I didn’t really feel that hungry today except after working out and even then had my green juice when I got home and now I’m not hungry! I had a lot of energy at the gym and owned my cardio work out! This morning I woke up with a bit of a headache but had water and the headache went away. so far so good, going strong!

For months I have told myself that I’m going to start making healthier food choices and get more fit and it has yet to happen so I decided to give the 10 day green smoothie cleanse a try again. ( did it before once made it to day 3 & stopped) but this time around I’m documenting my journey on here to keep myself accountable and making sure I make it to the end this time! Also this time around I found a new juice maker when I was black Friday shopping so I was excited to test it out. Hey whatever it takes to get motivated guys! I’ll be sharing recipes, how I felt that day, and some other tip and tricks to get through these 10 days! Today is the start of juicing, day one is almost complete! only 9 more to go!

first and foremost here’s today recipe:


3 handfuls spinach

2 cups water

1 apple cored

1 cup frozen mangos

1 cup frozen strawberries

1 handful grapes

always place leafy greens and water into blender first and blend until mixture is a green juice- like consistency. then add the rest of the remaining ingredients in.

As day one is coming to an end, I would say today wasn’t half as bad as I imagined it to be. I think it also helps that I was busy through out the day. For the most part I think it’s all how you mentally approach things, because last time I tried to do juicing for 10 days I told myself how it’s an impossible task and I gave up day 3, this time around I’m coming in with an attitude that this will be so healthy for the body and is totally doable. I’m also discovering that it’s human nature to eat out of boredom and people turn to food when they aren’t even hungry. Like when I’m super busy I even forget that I didn’t eat but as soon as I have a bit of free time all I can think of is how I’m so hungry. Today the cravings have been real, I’m craving all the unhealthy foods my brain can possibly think of. I’m totally having withdrawals from coffee real bad. I convinced myself that I can’t even function with out coffee( although that’s probably a very true statement). None the less, for the majority of the day I had a steady energy flow. Later on through out the day started feeling low on energy and started getting a headache. Which is very normal for the first 4 days as your body is adjusting to healthy foods being introduced and having withdrawals from all the unhealthy foods. So I drank a bottle of water and the headache went away, energy levels aren’t too shabby. I was able to get a good work out in also! I figured out if you keep drinking a lot of water through out the day you feel full and it tricks your mind into believing that you aren’t hungry!  I also love chamomile tea with no sugar or anything added to it! I’m very excited to get a jump start into a healthier life style and seeing how this cleanse changes my body! stay tuned I will be doing daily updates to tell you guys about how everything’s going and will be sharing new smoothie recipes every day! oh and did I forget to mention? the smoothie recipes are delicious!

Today was my first day using it, and so far I am very satisfied with it! I love that it’s the perfect size and that you can bring it along to work with you or even perfect for travel. I use it even at home because I love having fresh made smoothies. I hate how when you store smoothies in the fridge for awhile they get the thick consistency. Also I love how it grinds frozen fruit right up like it’s nothing. It has awesome blending capacity and perfect blades. It’s perfect for smoothies, protein shakes, or even frozen coffee. Definitely will get a lot of use out of this blender for sure.
